Tiers
An explanation of what the various tiers mean is below.
| Tier | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Meta | The best characters in the game right now. It is recommended that you build these - though the more expensive ones might not be ideal for newer players. |
| Niche Meta | Characters who have specific uses in endgame, but only for specific modes. Characters in Niche Meta are often not "better" than characters in high A Tier in general, but have specific niches that make them worth building for players who wish to push those gamemodes. |
| S-Tier | Note: Only appears in Tier Lists from 8.8.5 onwards. Characters that are still extremely good, but don't have a ton of uses. You can get by in most/all gamemodes without building them, but choosing to build them for more roster diversity isn't a bad call either. |
| Support Meta | Characters with excellent lead/support abilities. Generally the first few of each type are worth building. |
| A Tier | Characters who aren't the best in the game, but are still viable in late-game modes if you build them well. |
| B Tier | Characters who could be considered "decent" if well-built, but aren't recommended. |
| C Tier | Characters who are usable by modern standards, but you shouldn't expect too much from them anywhere outside Shadowland. |
| D Tier | Note: Only appears in Tier Lists from 9.6.5 onwards. Pretty much Shadowland/Alliance Conquest fodder only. |
| Support | Characters with decent lead/support abilities, but you can do without them. |
| Poop Tier / Expansion Pack | Characters who are terribly dated - even stacking their builds won't do much, so it's best to just wait for them to get uniforms. |
Placements
- Placements are decided based on characters' overall usefulness, not their raw power. A character that is "weaker" than another may be ranked higher just because there is a niche they can fill.
- Characters are graded according to their type (i.e. Combat, Blast, Speed, Universal). Comparisons are not intended to be made between different types, even if they are in the same row.
- The cost of acquiring/building characters is not taken into account. Characters are assumed to be built to their maximum potential: this includes Artifacts.
- The rankings below A-tier are less exact than the higher rows.
C.T.P. Recommendations
- Note that putting C.T.P.s on anyone below Meta is only recommended if you really like a specific character or if you're a whale. The C.T.P.s listed are not advising you to equip that C.T.P. on that character, they are just showing what is optimal.
- Some C.T.P. recommendations may not be 100% correct, and the recommendations shown lack nuance (e.g. which CTPs are better for PvE or PvP). It is advised that you look for more detailed information on specific characters you want to build, rather than looking at this list, which is intended to be a quick overview.

Added a new tier, "Niche Meta", for characters that are "meta" but only for very specific uses (e.g. one ABX day, one Squad Battle bracket). This consists entirely of characters that used to be in the Meta tier.
Since this is technically still a 7.4 Tier List, the borders for the previous version have not been removed (e.g. Daredevil still marked red for "demoted"). Despite being "demoted", Wave retains her white border since she is still "new".

Important Changes
Due to the "A Tier" becoming too packed, it has been split roughly in half - the better half remaining in "A Tier", the rest going to "B Tier", and what was previously "B Tier" is now in a new tier named "C Tier".
The split was made roughly so that the characters in A Tier can feasibly solo WBL on an average mid-to-late-game account, or have equivalent value in other gamemodes if WBL is not the character's specialty.
I have also included a table in the "Information" popup that gives more information on the tiers - shown below:
Tier Meaning Meta The best characters in the game right now. It is recommended that you build these - though the more expensive ones might not be ideal for newer players. Niche Meta Characters who have specific uses in endgame, but only for specific modes. Characters in Niche Meta are often not "better" than characters in high A Tier in general, but have specific niches that make them worth building for players who wish to push those gamemodes. Support Meta Characters with excellent lead/support abilities. Generally the first few of each type are worth building. A Tier Characters who aren't the best in the game, but are still viable in late-game modes if you build them well. B Tier Characters who could be considered "decent" if well-built, but aren't recommended. C Tier Characters who are usable by modern standards, but you shouldn't expect too much from them anywhere outside Shadowland. Support Characters with decent lead/support abilities, but you can do without them.
