The Fate of Mankind (Eternals)

Introduction

Epic Quests are sets of story-based missions that allow you to embark on a journey with a various characters, empowering them as you progress through a list of challenges.

The Eternals Epic Quest follows an original storyline based on some of the characters from Marvel Studios' Eternals.

This is the first Epic Quest in a while to break the mould, consisting of 6 smaller quests for each character involved. There are two Deluxe Packs, and no Native Tier-2s or Tier-3s involved at all.

To reflect these differences, this guide will come in several parts. This main part will contain an overview of the quest and collection, and there will be 6 additional parts that contain the missions, researches and quest list for each of the 6 characters.

  • Characters

    Characters

    I have used the images of the characters with their "Marvel Studios' Eternals" uniforms, as that is how they appear in the quest, but none of them are given for free and you have to purchase them from the Uniform Store.

    Sersi
    Sersi

    Free, farmable character. You build her to Transcended Potential as you progress through her quest.
    Starting the Prologue quest gives a free Tier-2 Sersi.

    Ikaris
    Ikaris

    Paywalled, shifter character. You need him at Tier-2 to start his story, and you build him to Tier-3 as you progress through his quest.

    Kingo
    Kingo

    Free, farmable character. You build him to Transcended Potential as you progress through his quest.

    Makkari
    Makkari

    Crystalwalled, Deluxe Pack character. You need to buy the Deluxe Pack to start her story, and you build her to Tier-2 as you progress through her quest.

    Gilgamesh
    Gilgamesh

    Crystalwalled, Deluxe Pack character. You need to buy the Deluxe Pack to start his story, and you build him to Tier-2 as you progress through his quest.

    This Epic Quest's equivalent of the big unlock character, with a story that only unlocks when all the previous 5 have been completed.
    You unlock her at 1 Star, and build her to Tier-3 as you progress through her quest.

    Once the Prologue has been completed, there will be the option to select one of five additional stories (the sixth, Thena's, will be locked until you complete the first five). You can do these in any order you like, but once you start one Eternal's story you will have to complete it before you can start another.

  • Epic Quest Collections

    Epic Quest Collections

    Epic Quest Collections consist of random items that have a chance to drop every time you run a specific mission. Complete a Collection to receive a special reward.

    The Eternals' Ancient Archives Collection contains 4 items, each subdivided into 3 sub-items that can be farmed from missions within the Epic Quest. Once the required amounts of all 3 sub-items for a Collection item are reached, it is marked as collected and your reward can be redeemed.

    The amount you need of each sub-item is more or less arbitrary - they all have their own drop percentages, and some will drop in larger amounts at once than others.

    For each sub-item, the number of items needed is shown on the left, and a character portrait is included for the corresponding mission type in which it drops.

A Modern Crisis (Sersi)

Introduction

"A Modern Crisis" is Sersi's story within the greater "The Fate of Mankind" Epic Quest. You unlock a Tier-2 Sersi immediately once you start this story (or gain 384 Biometrics as compensation if you already have her Tier-2), and by progressing through the various stages, Sersi reaches Transcended Potential.

    Basic character farm mission. This mission has an individual limit of 10 character drops (but a single run that drops 2 Biometrics only counts as 1 run), so you can get at least 10 Biometrics a day from it.

    Since they're cheap at 4 Energy (3 Energy with Stage 1 Boost Points), running this mission is a decent way to farm Uniform EXP and fodder Biometrics while maintaining a decent Bio-to-Energy ratio.

    Additionally, you can get 3 Ikaris Biometrics per day if he appears as a Shifter. This limit is not shared between Industrial Complex and Deviant Diversion (Ikaris' mission).

    Level Rebates

    Certain stages of the Epic Quest will reward you with Sersi level ups, for each 2 levels above 60 (and stopping at 70). However, if you have manually levelled your Sersi to an equivalent or higher level than what the stage reward wants to give you, you will receive some materials as rebates.

    Note that these are generally less than what you put in manually, so it is best to let Sersi be levelled up by the Epic Quest.

    Search and Research

    At various points in the Stage List, you will be asked to complete "Research" tasks which basically just require you to sacrifice some resources to progress. They are listed here in the order they appear in the Stage List (and generally, goes from easiest to hardest as you go down).

    This Epic Quest also includes Searches. These require that you run a particular mission over and over to acquire some RNG drops. They are awful and universally despised. It is generally accepted that Search items drop at a fixed rate regardless of level (e.g. Dimension Missions having levels 1-15), so if you want to rush Search stages, run the missions with lowest Energy requirement (e.g. Dimension Mission stage 6).

Outsiders Off-Limits (Ikaris)

Introduction

"Outsiders Off-Limits" is Ikaris' story within the greater "The Fate of Mankind" Epic Quest. You need to have Tier-2 Ikaris in order to start this story, and by progressing through the various stages, Ikaris reaches Tier-3.

It is very important to read the "Level Rebates" section below.

    Basic mission that exists purely for farming Ikaris as a Shifter - you can get 3 Ikaris Biometrics per day if he appears. This limit is not shared between Deviant Diversion and Industrial Complex (Sersi's mission).

    Certain stages of the Epic Quest will reward you with Ikaris level ups, for each 2 levels above 60 (and stopping at 70). However, if you have manually levelled your Ikaris to an equivalent or higher level than what the stage reward wants to give you, you will receive some materials as rebates.

    While this doesn't really matter for a free character like Sersi, getting Premium Biometrics in bulk like this is extremely rare. As such you should level up Ikaris to Lv.70 manually and get all the level rebates, which will allow you to put those Biometrics towards Uniform Upgrades (you will have some left over, but he could always get another uniform some time down the road).

    Whether you level Ikaris to Lv.70 before starting the quest, or level him up incrementally just before the relevant stages, you should not be letting the quest level Ikaris for you at all. It does cost more generic Biometrics than the Ikaris Biometrics you get rebated, but trading farmable ones for Premium Biometrics is really a no-brainer.

    Search and Research

    At various points in the Stage List, you will be asked to complete "Research" tasks which basically just require you to sacrifice some resources to progress. They are listed here in the order they appear in the Stage List (and generally, goes from easiest to hardest as you go down).

    This Epic Quest also includes Searches. These require that you run a particular mission over and over to acquire some RNG drops. They are awful and universally despised. It is generally accepted that Search items drop at a fixed rate regardless of level (e.g. Dimension Missions having levels 1-15), so if you want to rush Search stages, run the missions with lowest Energy requirement (e.g. Dimension Mission stage 6).

Space Race (Makkari)

Introduction

"Space Race" is Makkari's story within the greater "The Fate of Mankind" Epic Quest. The story begins when you purchase Makkari's Deluxe Pack for 4400 Crystals, and by progressing through the various stages, Makkari reaches Tier-2.

Note that progressing through this Quest will gradually give 1000 Crystals back, so the net cost of the Deluxe Pack is 3400 Crystals.

This story does not bring Makkari past Tier-2, so to build her further you will have to Realise Potential, Level 70, Gear 25, Awaken and Transcend Potential manually as with any other character.

This is very similar to Gilgamesh's quest, as he is also a Deluxe Pack character.

    Makkari's Deluxe Mission has 4 entries per day, each of which drops 4 or 5 Makkari Biometrics, and one of the six Artifacts from the list above. Character Artifacts for Ikaris, Sersi and Makkari drop rarely.

    This entry limit also means you cannot complete the below Stage List in one day, even if you manage to complete the Search immediately, as there are multiple objectives that require you to run Madness Ensues.

    If you run the stage on Manual, you will get two Shifter runs, with either Ikaris or Sersi. If you want to farm Ikaris, you can force close until he appears.

    When combined with Gilgamesh's mission, there are 8 Heroes Reunited entries per day, providing a decent source of fodder Artifacts and Biometrics.

Land of the Gods (Gilgamesh)

"Land of the Gods" is Gilgamesh's story within the greater "The Fate of Mankind" Epic Quest. The story begins when you purchase Gilgamesh's Deluxe Pack for 4400 Crystals, and by progressing through the various stages, Gilgamesh reaches Tier-2.

Dance with Doom (Thena)

Introduction

"Dance with Doom" is Thena's story within the greater "The Fate of Mankind" Epic Quest. This is the final story for the Epic Quest: you must complete all 5 of the other stories to unlock it (and unlock Thena), and by progressing through the various stages, Thena reaches Tier-3.

The requirement to unlock also includes Makkari and Gilgamesh's storylines, so Thena can be considered to be locked behind both Deluxe Packs. This is similar to the "Final Unlock" Native Tier-2 in most other Epic Quests, like Jean Grey or Doctor Doom (except Thena is Native Tier-1).

It is very important to read the "Level Rebates" section below.

    Basic character farm mission, but crucially the only place in the game where you can renewably farm Thena Biometrics. This mission has an individual limit of 10 character drops (but a single run that drops 2 Biometrics only counts as 1 run), so you can get at least 10 Biometrics a day from it.

    Since they're cheap at 4 Energy (3 Energy with Stage 1 Boost Points), running this mission is a decent way to farm Uniform EXP and fodder Biometrics while maintaining a decent Bio-to-Energy ratio. If you anticipate a new uniform for Thena, it may be good to farm this until you have 930 Biometrics in your inventory.

    Unlockable Mission - True Evolution
    The Final Showdown
    The Final Showdown

    This mission is unlocked through quest progression, and has a daily entry limit of 2. Each run will drop 2 6-Star ISO-8 Boosters, and may include the other ISO-8 and Obelisk drops. This makes it a very valuable mission and one you should run daily.

    This is very similar to the Delxue Missions for non-Mutant Epic Quests (e.g. Nova's, Invisible Woman's), just without guaranteed Biometric drops. Consider it an added bonus for purchasing both Deluxe Packs.

    Every run will randomly select one of the Eternals as a Shifter (if played manually), and rewards a single Biometric of that Shifter character upon mission completion. This is an additional way to farm rarer characters like Ikaris or Thena.

    As with all of these missions, it is an option to guarantee two Shifter Biometrics from this mission by force closing if you get an undesired character as a Shifter. Tedious and probably not worth it as you'd already have Ikaris Tier-3 by the time you get around to this mission.

    Level Rebates

    Certain stages of the Epic Quest will reward you with Thena level ups, for each 2 levels above 60 (and stopping at 70). However, if you have manually levelled your Thena to an equivalent or higher level than what the stage reward wants to give you, you will receive some materials as rebates.

    While this doesn't really matter for a free character like Sersi or Kingo, getting Thena Biometrics in bulk like this is extremely rare. As such you should level up Thena to Lv.70 manually and get all the level rebates, which will allow you to put those Biometrics towards Uniform Upgrades (you will have some left over, but she could always get another uniform some time down the road).

    Keep a close eye on the Stage List below, and level Thena before the auto-level-up stages - you should not be letting the quest level her for you at all. It does cost more generic Biometrics than the Thena Biometrics you get rebated, but trading farmable ones for Premium Biometrics is really a no-brainer.

    Search and Research

    At various points in the Stage List, you will be asked to complete "Research" tasks which basically just require you to sacrifice some resources to progress. They are listed here in the order they appear in the Stage List (and generally, goes from easiest to hardest as you go down).

    This Epic Quest also includes Searches. These require that you run a particular mission over and over to acquire some RNG drops. They are awful and universally despised. It is generally accepted that Search items drop at a fixed rate regardless of level (e.g. Dimension Missions having levels 1-15), so if you want to rush Search stages, run the missions with lowest Energy requirement (e.g. Dimension Mission stage 6).
