Potential Search Percentages

Here is some info on the dumb potential search minigame - this is where you have to fill a bar up to 100% by playing World Boss. Once the potential search is done, you can start levelling to 70 or 80.

Characters are subdivided into "Low-Cost" (i.e. Native Tier-1s and single-cost Native Tier-2s like Doctor Strange, Black Order) and "High-Cost" (i.e. double-cost Native Tier-2s, Native Tier-3s). Quicksilver and Cable are exceptions, who are considered High-Cost for Potential Search despite their upgrade costs being regular.

Characters have to meet 100,000 "Potential Points" to complete their Potential Search. Each successful World Boss run will select from a pre-set list of point increments - usually a 60% chance for a low increase, a 35% chance for a high increase, and a 5% chance of instant completion. In the progress bar in-game, these are expressed as percentages of the total points.

The probabilities of point increments are included in the sections below. Additionally there is a table with summary stats - i.e. how many World Boss runs are expected to be required to complete Potential Search. Each table contains summary statistics from 1,000,000 simulated runs.
