2025 MCU Predictions

Hello thanosvibbers. Threw together a quick predictions of the next year of MCU updates, as Marvel Studios ramps back up post-strikes.

The colours used in the portraits below indicate likelihood of being added - green for very likely, yellow for maybe, red for probably not. There are also icons indicating what will be added with the character (e.g. uniform, Tier-3 or Tier-4, new character).

Please note this is pure speculation (outside of the film/show dates) and nothing is leaked/datamined! Even the green ones might end up being wrong.

• Movies

  Movies are guaranteed to have main updates centred around them.

  Captain America: Brave New World (14 February)

  The lead and antagonist (Falcon and Red Hulk) are definitely uni+T4 picks. This movie doesn't feature too many other prominent characters, so the others are not as easy to guess.

  If a new character comes this update it will likely be Sabra, as she was the first additional hero to be announced and likely plays a decent role.

  Falcon (Joaquin Torres), Isaiah Bradley, Sidewinder, and The Leader are all in the film, but will likely not be added over Sabra.

  Yelena and Bucky are sure to be the Tier-4s this update, as the lead character and the most popular supporting character respectively.

  U.S.Agent (as the new character of the film) fits perfectly as a new character, and Ghost's appearance gives an opportunity for her to get a Tier-3 or TP (with U.S.Agent?).

  On the unlikely side: Sentry's (or Void's) costumed form is likely being saved for the film itself, so Netmarble may not get access to the concept art. If this wasn't the case he would definitely be in the likely pile.

  Red Guardian features heavily in the trailers and would also be a likely choice if he didn't seem to be wearing the same costume.

  Taskmaster seems the least likely: having a female uniform for her would be awesome but it seems the character features very little in the film. It also wouldn't be an ensemble film update if a character wasn't left out.

  A little difficult to see what would happen with this update as 3 of the main 4 already have Tier-4s.

  A female Surfer is interesting and likely to be added, but uncertainty around how heavily she features in the film (or its marketing) have it at yellow.

  Very unlikely, but with no other Tier-4 candidates this update, a playable Galactus might be in the cards - he was an officially accepted response in one of the character suggestion polls a few years ago.

• Shows (Likely)

  Disney+ Show updates are less fixed and often start development after the show has aired. They can release months after the show concludes, often as mid-month additional patches, though at times they are scheduled main updates similar to movies.

  The shows in this section are the "main" shows which will definitely be added.

  Daredevil: Born Again (4 March)

  As the main trio of the show, Daredevil, Punisher and Kingpin are all sure bets. Predicting Tier-4s for all three, but Kingpin would be the one to lose out if only two of them got one.

  Assuming this is a main update, the villain Muse seems to be the obvious choice for a new character.

  On the uncertain side there's Bullseye, who is a side villain so not guaranteed anything. White Tiger (if a uniform) is also a possibility just to give the character a 6th skill, though an argument could be made for the White Tiger in the show being a separate character.

  This seems like a mid-month sized update, but could also be a smaller main update to add The Hood (as mid months rarely add new characters).

  The only definite one is Ironheart, would be a good chance to get Mephisto a uniform and Tier-4 if the rumours are true, but depends on whether he features in the marketing.

  What If...? Season 3 (December '24)

  Putting this in the 2025 pile as the update will likely be in the new year. We can be fairly sure of a What If...? Season 3 update as the first two seasons have been featured, and Season 2 even got a main update.

  Guessing who will get a uniform from What If...? is a crapshoot though - Captain Carter is essentially the protagonist of the show and has not been added.

  Kahhori is a decent guess as she has a new look in the trailer and probably won't get another chance to get a uni/T4. As the final season it would also be a good time to add The Watcher as some kind of Native Tier-2 or 3.

  The other picks are just ones in the trailer that showed new uniforms that haven't been updated in a while. There are way more options than what are shown here and these will probably be wrong.

• Shows (Unsure)

  These are less prominent and/or animated shows which have a lower likelihood of making it in.

  Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (29 January)

  This has a bunch of characters but an update seems unlikely as X-Men 97 still has nothing. It might be a chance for another Spidey villain centric update though.

  Marvel Zombies (October)

  With the addition of the Zombie tag in the What If... Zombies?! update this year, it seems possible that more zombies will be added based on this show. Similar to What If...? though, it's near impossible to guess who.

  Wonder Man (December)

  A weird one-off show that may get ignored like Secret Invasion or Werewolf by Night. At most they might throw Wonder Man in by himself, but not sure if there is enough to focus a whole update around.
