Team Up Bonuses provide minor stat buffs when a certain pair or trio of characters are in a team together. No one cares about the buffs anymore but this used to be a pretty big deal back when everyone's cards sucked.

It was very impressive when a team of 3 characters filled up all the Team Up Bonus slots, meaning they had a 3-character bonus between them, and all three 2-character bonuses between the pairs of characters.
