2023 Black Friday Events
Introduction
Below is a list of Black Friday 2023 events: this is currently a WIP. Links to the relevant forum pages will be added as they go up.
Changelog
- 20231120: Added recommendations for "Free Tier-3 Selector" and "Free Transcended Potential Selector". Fixed some formatting errors in item names in the "Secret Shop" and "Bonus Loyalty Rewards" sections.
- Free Tier-3 Selector
Character Pool
Primary Recommendations
These are the most recommended characters to pick. They will be listed with their relevant uniforms, which are must-haves.
Taskmaster [Support]
Taskmaster [Support]
Still one of the most useful supports in the game with his uniform.
Additionally he is new to this year's Tier-3 Selectors, making him a good choice: most of the other options here can be chosen from regular Tier-3 Selectors that are given out more frequently.Captain Marvel [Main]
Captain Marvel [Main]
Very strong PvE character, and just received her new update, so many players may not have her Tier-3.
Mostly good for ABX and WBL, but not very proc-friendly, so might require a Rage.Spider-Man [Main]
Spider-Man [Main]
Great hybrid character with Back to Basics uniform, though he leans PvP especially in late-game.
A good pick if you haven't done your Tier-3 Guided Quests yet, as you can pick Spider-Man after he is Tier-3 from the Selector, and the Guided Quest will give you materials that you can then use on other characters that are not frequently found in Tier-3 Selectors.Captain America (Sharon Rogers) [Main]
Captain America (Sharon Rogers) [Main]
Very strong PvE character, sure to be a staple from early to mid game.
Captain America [Main]
Captain America [Main]
Great hybrid character with Back to Basics uniform, though he leans PvE especially in late-game.
A good pick if you haven't done your Tier-3 Guided Quests yet, as you can pick Cap after he is Tier-3 from the Selector, and the Guided Quest will give you materials that you can then use on other characters that are not frequently found in Tier-3 Selectors.Loki
Loki
Will update when mid-month update comes out.
Additional Support Recommendations
These are not glowing recommendations, but if you need some more supports and have all the above already (or they are close enough to Tier-3 manually that you feel it would be wasted), consider these. Uniforms are not shown here as they are not highly recommended.
Hela
Hela
45% Energy Attack lead. Increases to 60% with a 50% bonus damage dealt to Heroes with her [Asgard Invasion] uniform, but that is probably not worth buying at this point.
Similar to Taskmaster, Hela being new in this year's Selectors is more reason to get her.Cyclops
Cyclops
25% All Basic Attacks lead with 15% Energy Attack as a passive. Increases to 45% All Basic Attacks and 40% Energy Attack with his [Modern] uniform, but that is probably not worth buying at this point.
Additional Main Recommendations
These are also not glowing recommendations, but if you like any of the below characters or have a good use for them, they aren't bad options. All require the uniforms shown.
Black Panther
Black Panther
Best Combat Hero for WBL, but still worse than Moon Knight for ABL (which likely matters more).
Venom
Venom
Pretty good for single-target PvE, but not that useful for much apart from World Boss and GBR. Also not very proc-friendly - requires a Rage to perform well in GBR.
Iron Man
Iron Man
Proc-friendly and good for PvE, and has a couple of Blast Male AB days, though he's meta for none of them. A solid but skippable character that's mostly for World Boss.
Thor
Thor
Universal PvE character, mostly good at mission clearing, but so is any Lv.80. There are also several downsides: his single-target damage is lacking compared to the three above choices, he is very annoying to play with a proc due to a weird rotation and mobility issues, and he probably isn't worth the Rage/Judgement that might alleviate those problems.
Hulk
Hulk
Tanky PvP character, but Spider-Man is the superior choice for early-game. Hulk might still be worth it if you want a secondary PvP character, and you're not ready to build up one of the expensive meta characters like Gorr and Jean.
- Free Transcended Potential Selector
Character Pool
Primary Recommendations
These are the most recommended characters to pick. Uniforms are required for all three shown. Unlike the Tier-3 Selector and Premium Tier-2 Selector recommendations, they kind of fall of a cliff after this section: the "Additional" recommendations are much much worse.
Spider-Gwen [Main]
Spider-Gwen [Main]
Great proc-friendly starter character, and one of the most useful PvE characters even into lategame.
Has a crazy amount of Alliance Battle Extreme/Legend days and is good for World Boss Legend too.Doctor Octopus [Main]
Doctor Octopus [Main]
Another solid proc-friendly Alliance Battle-centric character - though he needs a Rage when he hits TIer-4.
As most the Beginner's Guide recommendations are for Heroes, it might be nice to diversify with a Villain too.Sif [Lead + Support]
Sif [Lead + Support]
A great lead and support for Combat types, and can do a bit of work as a main in Alliance Battle Extreme too.
Gamora [Lead + Main]
Gamora [Lead + Main]
Stronger than Spider-Gwen, but has less ABL restrictions due to not being Human (and both are outclassed by Luna Snow).
Still a strong proc-friendly character who can go to Lv.80 or Tier-4 if you like her.Additional Support Recommendation
Not a glowing recommendations but if you need some supports and have all the above already, consider Medusa. Optional uniform shown.
Medusa [Lead]
Medusa [Lead]
A pretty mediocre 36% All Attack lead for Universals.
With her uniform, becomes a nice dual lead + support for Inhuman characters.
However, Black Bolt with his [Fallen Soul] (Halloween exclusive) uniform is the only Inhuman that is relevant now. Since he has his own lead, Medusa is only a support for him, wasting her lead.Additional Main Recommendation
Also not a glowing recommendation, but if you like him or have a good use for him, Moon Knight isn't the worst. Uniform required.
Moon Knight [Main]
Moon Knight [Main]
One of the worse Tier-4s, but can still be pretty formidable when well-built, and he's nice and proc-friendly.
Still meta for Combat Hero ABX.

These Selectors only come with purchases, so they have a wider selection than the free ones. Recommendations are not provided for these.

- Secret Shop
Basics
It may be useful to watch a video about the Secret Shop. It is likely the biggest Crystal sink of Black Friday and Anniversary events, and contains very worthwhile rewards.
Like a game of Bingo, your goal is to complete 5 lines of a 5x5 grid.
- A random square is filled when you purchase an item for Crystals.
- Each line you complete has a reward you can claim.
- Once you complete 5 lines, you can choose to progress to the last board, or continue on the current board for more line rewards. For those that played during the 8 Year Homecoming Party event, the Line Rewards and Item Shop are the exact same. The Board Rewards are slightly different:
- Board 1 allows you to pick a C.T.P. of Conquest.
- Boards 2 and 4 (Artifact selectors) have all current Artifacts, from Sharon Rogers to Korath.
- Boards 3 and 5 (Reforged C.T.P. selectors) now have Insight, but no Conquest.
- Board 6 is new: no Bingo events have had 6 boards before.Board Rewards
Below are the rewards you can get for completing boards. There are 6 boards in total, and once you progress to the "next board" you cannot revisit any previous ones. Ensure you have all the line rewards you want before completing the board.
