7th Year Anniversary

Introduction

This is a short guide on how to make the most out of the freebies offered in the 7 year anniversary event.

• Tier-3 Selector

  On the day of the anniversary, a free Tier-3 Selector will be distributed to all players. The possible choices are limited to characters who are bio-selectable, Native Tier-1, and received their Tier-3 upgrade on or before the 6th year anniversary (and also excludes some choices arbitrarily like Taskmaster).

  As the selector brings whichever character you select straight to Tier-3, it is advised to use it on a good character who you haven't invested much into. If you use it on a character who is already ready for Tier-3, you are essentially wasting many resources on Level 70, gear upgrades, etc.

  Choice Pool

  There are 20 characters available in the selector. The characters here (and in the sections below) will be shown with their best uniforms, which must be bought separately and do not come with the selector.

  Recommended Picks

  These are by far the 3 best choices. You should be picking one of these 3 if you don't have all of them Tier-3 (or close to Tier-3) already, and get the uniforms shown.

  Loki

  Loki

  Undoubtedly the best choice here, as the most versatile PvE character in the game.
  Grab your choice of his uniforms and slap on a Rage and he'll clear basically anything you want him to.

  Captain America (Sharon Rogers)

  Captain America (Sharon Rogers)

  Another great choice, but since players are likely to have her more built than Loki, she's in second place.
  A fantastic DPS character who will likely receive more uniforms to keep her up-to-date as time goes on.

  Spider-Man

  Spider-Man

  The best cheap PvP character in the game that also has plenty of PvE potential with a hyrbid build.
  Worth picking, but consider who you'd get from the Tier-3 Guided Quest (if you haven't done it yet) if you pick Spidey here.

  Alternative Picks

  If you already have all the recommended picks, these are some less desirable ones for you to consider. Note that Thor and Cyclops are probably better choices than the lower picks by quite a bit.

  Thor

  Thor

  You'd pick Thor in anticipation of his "Love and Thunder" uniform in a couple of updates, so don't buy any other Thor uniforms even if you pick him.
  It's been safe to assume that the protagonist of an MCU movie/show gets a great uniform for the past year or so, but it's never a guaranteee, so keep that in mind.

  Captain America

  Captain America

  With his Enter the Phoenix uniform, Cap is a very strong PvE character (especially with a Judgement) but isn't anything spectacular.
  With no niche that he really fills and no indication of when he'll get his next uniform, he's a good pick but not a priority.

  Black Bolt

  Black Bolt

  Perhaps he will be in an upcoming film. Perhaps he will get a uniform sometime down the road based on that.
  If one or both of those is untrue he's a decent 30% Energy Attack lead, which turns into 65% All Atacks for Inhumans with his Marvels X uniform (which shouldn't be a priority, but might be worth keeping in mind for when Kamala gets her Disney+ show uniform).

  Support Picks

  Note that Cyclops is a considerably better choice than the other three listed here.

  Cyclops

  Cyclops

  While not useful on his own, Cyclops is a solid all-round Leader and Support for WBL.
  In his base form he has a 25% All Attack lead with 10% Energy Attack support, which increases to 35% lead/30% support with his Phoenix Five uniform.
  It's up to you on whether that's worth the Crystals - but it probably isn't for the majority of players.

  Captain Marvel

  Captain Marvel

  Not too useful on her own, but has a decent 30% Energy Attack lead for WBL.
  She's mainly a support for Moonstone, as she both provides a useful leadership and forces Moonstone's 5th skill to trigger when you press the co-op button, which results in a huge damage burst every 30 seconds (to coincide with Moonstone's Awakened Skill).
  She doesn't need her Last Avenger uniform for these purposes, but it's necessary if you want to use her in Squad Battle (as it changes her to Villain).

  Storm

  Storm

  Not great on her own, and she needs her uniform to unlock her support passive (which probably isn't worth it for most).
  Her base form provides 12% Lightning Damage to All Allies, which is buffed to 35% All Elemental Damage with her uniform.

  Winter Soldier

  Winter Soldier

  Decent in PvE but ultimately forgettable, has a 30% Physical Attack lead for WBL.

  Squad Battle Picks

  Don't really recommend any of these, but could be worth considering for mid-game players who already have all the above (or don't want some of the weaker Alternative/Support Picks). This only applies to Vibranium League of Squad Battle.

  Ghost Rider

  Ghost Rider

  Scores super high in Universal/Hero/Male/Human, but requires a Rage or Judgement to be useful.
  While he is able to clear WBL, his weird rotation and low survivability make him a poor choice in today's meta.

  Rogue

  Rogue

  The best choice for Speed/Mutant (unless you have Deadpool's April Pools uniform), but again requires Judgement (ideally) or Rage to perform.
  A pretty good WBL clear and ABX character if you do decide to build her up, but she's a big investment for a relatively dated character.

  Also note that Captain Marvel (mentioned in Support Picks for her lead) is a good alternative pick for Universal/Villain/Human with her Last Avenger uniform, for those who don't have Doom.

• Transcended Potential Selector

  The choices for Transcended characters are a bit more dire than the Tier-3 ones, especially since they are generally less popular than Tier-3s and thus less likely to feature in MCU content that will guarantee new uniforms.

  Choice Pool

  There are 18 characters available in the selector. The characters here (and in the sections below) will be shown with their best uniforms, which must be bought separately and do not come with the selector.

  Recommended Picks

  Doctor Octopus

  Doctor Octopus

  An excellent Combat Villain for ABX and WBL, with a proc-friendly rotation and great damage.
  Definitely grab his uniform if you select him.

  Sif

  Sif

  A great character for anyone at any point in the game, as she's usable both as a lead+support and a main.
  Like Ock, she needs her uniform to be viable.

  Alternative Picks

  Moon Knight

  Moon Knight

  While his most recent uniform is still pretty good, you'd be picking him and waiting for his Disney+ show uniform.
  This should arrive a few months after the show wraps up, but there's no concrete timeline for Disney+ tie-ins.

  Silk

  Silk

  She's bad without her Summer Days seasonal paywall uniform, but still quite good with it.
  If for some reason you have the uniform without her Transcended, or are certain you'll get it this year, she's an obvious choice. Otherwise, don't get her.

  Support Picks

  Note that Medusa is a considerably better choice than the other three listed here.

  Medusa

  Medusa

  A pretty nice 36% attack for Universals, 42% with her Monsters Unleashed uniform, and 45% with her Inhumans vs X-Men uniform. The latter uniform also gives Inhumans on the team a 45% damage buff to Villains, but with arguably no Inhumans worth building right now, you can just settle for her base uniform's lead.

  Bullseye

  Bullseye

  Gives a 50% Ignore Dodge leadership regardless of uniform, but he also doesn't need to be Transcended for this unless you really want an Ignore Dodge lead for WBL for some reason.

  Elsa Bloodstone

  Elsa Bloodstone

  A 30% Physical Attack leadership regardless of uniform. As one of the game's oldest Transcended Potential characters with no uniform, it may be marginally more likely that she gets a new one that makes her good, but no guarantees.

  Iron Fist

  Iron Fist

  A pretty big 60% All Attack lead for Defenders with his latest uniform (The Living Weapon), but none of the Defenders are really that useful in PvE.
  You'd only be getting this if you were a big fan or if you're banking on more Defenders uniforms in the future, which probably isn't very likely.

  Story Mode Picks

  If you already have the top 3 choices Transcended or very close to it, and don't have/want Silk's uniform, it is valid to make a pick based solely on Story Mode's recommendations rather than the support picks above, as none of them are that spectacular.

  As the character pool for All-War consists solely of elemental characters, the characters below are simply the two elemental characters in the selection, as they have a higher chance overall of being recommended each month.

  Still kind of decent with a good build and his Classic uniform, but largely not worth it anymore.

  Shadow Shell

  Shadow Shell

  Has no uni and is kind of usable but there's really no reason to use her. Hope for a uniform next time Netmarble gets around to updating OCs.
