Black Friday 2025 - Selector Recommendations

Black Friday provides three free selectors to all players. These are the recommended selections, focusing mostly on the characters who do not appear in the normal selectors.

For characters with support passives, you can click the character portrait and go to the "Lead/Support" tab to view their effects.

As Tier-4 is by far the most costly upgrade process, don't opt out of a good pick just because they are already at Tier-3/Transcended or Lv.80. As long as you have not upgraded a character's gears past +25, it should be fine to use the selector on them.

Far and away the best choice in this selector, and probably overall the best Native Tier-1 character.

Amazing in all PvE modes and has several Alliance Battle restrictions she is meta for.

While not nearly as strong as Storm, Venom's usefulness has increased significantly with the recent Alliance Battle reworks.

Overall the strongest Combat in PvE at the moment, great for Alliance Battle and WBL.
Hulk [Titan]
Hulk [Titan]
Formerly a very versatile ABX/L character, but has lost a lot of usefulness in the rework.

Still quite strong with a fun rotation, but Winter Soldier [Revolution] performs similarly without the "damage scales off HP" gimmick, which makes Hulk hard to build.
Thor [All-Father Reborn]

A nice general PvE character, being Universal helps a lot. Good AoE for mission clearing (e.g. Dispatch), solid damage for WBL, and a good second option for some Alien restrictions in Alliance Battle.

Downside is that he is not proc-friendly at all, needing either a Rage or Judgement. He is also not too useful in late-game.

Is also a fan-favourite, so you can hope for a new uniform in the future.

These are recommended for all accounts, though newer accounts are more likely to not already have them Tier-3.

Solid support, gets even better with a lead added with her uniform. A must-have for all accounts.

Fantastic DPS character, especially for newer players due to native Pierce. Needs the uniform to be any good.

Fantastic lead and support character, a must-have to pair with Storm. Also decent as a main.
Taskmaster [Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts*]

A great support with either uniform, eligible for a bunch of restrictions as the [Thunderbolts*] uniform is Female Hero, and the [Black Widow] uniform is Male Villain.

Great support for Universals. Note that this uniform makes him a Hero.

A great Speed Villain Lead/Support character, and pretty decent as a main too as far as Lv.70s go.

Great support with no uniform required.

He does have a seasonal uniform that allows his passive to affect All Allies, but still useful without and you can grab it when Christmas comes around if you want.

Very strong and unique leadership against Male types. Gets better with uniforms, but probably not worth it.
Maybe Mains
These characters are pretty good, but require a uniform purchase and aren't that necessary overall. Build them if you like them!

Pretty good Combat Hero for WBL and Alliance Battle.

However if you want him, you can also just pick him from the Tier-4 Selector.

Quite an old uniform, but currently a good option for the Speed Male ABX and ABL days.

Also a very good striker with his [Ancient Curse] seasonal uniform, though it is a shame it is unavailable until next Halloween for those who didn't buy it.

An okay alternative for Inhuman ABL day if you care about that, and if you don't have Black Bolt's seasonal uniform.

However it is just one ABL day and you likely won't score very high without Medusa's seasonal support anyway.

Pretty good Combat Villain for Alliance Battle, decent for WBL.

However if you want him, you can also just pick him from the Tier-4 Selector.
Minor Supports
These characters have Lead/Supports that can be somewhat useful in WBL. Get them if you've got all the Strong Recommendations and Maybe Mains (or just aren't interested in the Maybe Mains).

Decent 45% Energy Attack leadership. You can purchase her uniform and use her as a main too, though probably not worth it anymore.
Ancient One

Decent 45% Energy Attack leadership and 25% Elemental Damage passive for Blast Types only.
Futureproofing
Kind of the "last resort" - you would pick these characters and not touch them until they get new uniforms.
Expected to get new uniforms with Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, and the Punisher special presentation.

Cho's brand new uniform makes him quite a valuable Speed Male support, useful for the new ABX/L days.

Not useful as a main, but a very nice dual Lead/Support with the [Asgard Invasion] uniform.

However, she is also available from the new player 90-day Transcended Selector.
Gamora [Wastelanders]

Meta for Female Alien in ABX, and a good F2P substitute for Luna Snow in combination with Gwenpool (as together they cover all the Speed restrictions).

Also proc-friendly and quite strong in WBL if you choose to build her that way.

Meta Speed Villain for Alliance Battle (1 ABX day, 1 ABL day) with the new uniform.

Note that his best supports are quite costly though (Black Cat and Sin are seasonal paywall, Mystique is crystal-walled).

These characters are pretty good, but require a uniform purchase and aren't that necessary overall. Build them if you like them!

Solid Combat Villain for ABX/L, though very difficult to use and worse than Hulk and Winter Soldier. Don't pick him if you already have or want to build one of the others.

Also features in most generic Transcended selectors, so not a great use of this special one.

Strong general PvE character, though there will not be many places to use him outside of WBL.
Minor Supports
These characters have Lead/Supports that can be somewhat useful in WBL. Get them if you've got all the Strong Recommendations and Maybe Mains (or just aren't interested in the Maybe Mains).

45% Phys Attack leadership, and a chance to get a uniform and Tier-4 at some point as he is relatively popular.

50% Phys Attack leadership but restricted to Combat types. Gets a support for Strong types added on top with her uniform, but likely not worth.

36% All Attack leadership, but Blast Female so not a lot of places to use her.

One of the first Tier-4s to not have a subsequent uniform - with a bunch of early Tier-4s getting new uniforms, it might be his time soon.

Moon Knight is usually very good whenever he gets an upgrade too.
